Sonokeling Standard pen blank

Sonokeling - Standard Pen Blank

SKU: BP00001SON
£2.52Price

A wood blank for pen turning cut from Sonokeling (Dalbergia latifolia). Sonokeling is simply the name for Indian Rosewood that has been grown in commercial plantations.

Indian Rosewood varies in colour from mid brown to a purple-brown colour, and has darker brown stripes. It has an attractive figure and coarse grain with a medium lustre.

The wood is heavy and hard but turns well and can be finished to a high shine.

Note: Despite the fact the timber was commercially grown, this wood is still classed as endangered, so any products made from these blanks may not be exported. Note that these blanks were made from timber imported to the UK before the ban was introduced.
