Teak (Tectona grandis) is a mid-orange-brown wood with dark streaks that will develop a rich patina with age.
Teak is typically thought of as a wood for furniture making. It is a very heavy, dense wood but one that turns well. It will blunt tools rabidly, and Tungsten-Carbide tools are recommended.

The price qouted is for one pair of matched scales.
Each scale is approximately 130 x 40 x 10mm (5.1 x 1.55 x 0.4"). The scales are planed on the two main faces.
A single 130mm length of timber is cut along a centre line to match the grain as closely as possible.
